Nature photographer out of passion

Whether on the water or in nature – my eyes are always searching for beauty, harmony and something special in the moment.
My name is Susan van Breugel and I live in the beautiful canton of Obwalden.
Since 2005 I have been a self‑employed yacht interior designer. One of my greatest passions besides interior design is nature photography.
In search of magical moments in nature, equipped with my camera, perseverance, patience and a trained eye, I try to capture these unique instants.
In my opinion, it is the little things that make life so beautiful.

More than just a photo – a story of patience and passion

Every picture in these print products is far more than a single moment.
It is the result of an interplay of nature, time and feeling. Weather conditions, seasons, constellations of stars, moon phases – even the inner mood of the photographer – all influence whether a picture can come into being.
Take a look at the cover image of the 2026 calendar in landscape format:

• It took dozens of days full of patience and hundreds of shots until the perfect moment was captured.
  
• Only in frosty, foggy weather could the delicate frost form on trees and bushes.
  
• Absolute calm was needed so that the landscape was reflected in Lake Alpnach like in a painting.
  

The effort – in time, in kilometres of hiking, in dedication – cannot be measured in francs and cents.
What mattered was the passion for photography and the deep joy in nature.

Yacht interior designer

In cooperation with leading designers I dedicate myself to ‘finding’ high‑quality products from the best fabrics, materials and brands for the furnishing of luxury yachts and exclusive living spaces.
I work closely with numerous European and American companies to offer designers and consumers special, high‑quality items and unique, individually designed products.

Brünig Indoor

For me, sport shooting is a fascinating hobby that combines concentration, calmness and precision.
In the modern, underground Brünig Indoor facility, I find ideal conditions – from the combat hall to the 25‑metre pistol range and the 300‑metre rifle range.
If you’d like to give it a try: the shooting range welcomes visitors (with prior registration). A proper introduction and guidance are, of course, provided.
